6th Annual Southern Utah Code Camp competition

Bring Your Genius November 13-14, 2015:

As a platinum sponsor of the code camp event, iGlobal recognizes the value and importance of developing talent in the tech industry. From rookies to industry professionals, all teams involved in the challenge begin promptly at 8 am Friday and work until 8am Saturday to innovate, design, and program their inventions within 24 hours.

Out of the 239 participants there were about 80 teams. Three iGlobal teams were involved in the challenge this year. We’d like to congratulate:

Josh Beitler & teammates took 1st place in the Novice division and 1st place in the App Category:

After 3 years of participating, Josh and his team reached a big victory at Code Camp 2015. They created a chore chart app that works to help both parents and kids get the job done with a unique points/rewards system. When asked if he would do it again he replied, “Yes. Definitely.”

Dan Purcell & teammates took 1st place in Best Software Service category:

Dan Purcell and two students from Dixie State University also participated.  They developed a software system for home builders, subcontractors, and home buyers to interact with each other in the planning and execution phases of a home building project.  At the end of the 24 hours of programming, the tired team was awarded Best Software Service category and won prizes.

“I learned a ton, and it was great getting to know others around me better,” said Dan Purcell.  Dan is in the process of having a custom home built and is amazed at how paper-driven the process is. “I thought we could develop some software to help builders everywhere better communicate with their clients and subcontractors, so we picked this project.”
